Great list. We just finished Heartwood Hotel's Book 1 - loved it. We're doing our Advent Books right now (Cindy Rollins' Handel/Messiah book, and All Creation Waits). And we'll do our favs again - Christmas Carol and L. Frank Baum's Santa Claus book.
We loved reading Heartwood as a family last year. One of those I would have read over and over as a kid. I've never heard of Baum's Santa Claus book! I'll have to check it out.
Thanks for reading and taking the time to share your favorites, Julienne!
Love this list! I’m picking up Heartwood Hotel for my daughter, I can’t wait to read it with her. We’ve been reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe together since we started in mid November. Thanksgiving break messed us up and we’re struggling to get back into our nightly routine of reading together. I’m hoping to finish it before Christmas break, when we’ll read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!
I saw this when I logged into Substack to work on my own November book post, titled "What I Didn't Read." Ha! Apparently a week of family togetherness used up all our reading time! I don't even have an Advent book in the queue yet. Maybe I'll finally finish Bright Evening Star, which I started in December years ago!
HAHA! That's awesome. I really enjoyed Bright Evening Star -- I'm just so prone to disembodiment in my own daily life that reading about incarnation all month was so good for me.

Yay! Make sure to start with Heartwood Hotel: A True Home -- it takes place in fall and is the first of the 4-book cycle. ;)
I was just thinking that my crew was a good age for Narnia. Maybe we'll start that right after Christmas before we dive back into school?!?
