One I read in college that sticks with me is The Latehomecomer by Kao Kalia Yang. It's written by a Hmong refugee whose family came to America when she was quite young. It's their story of being dropped in a country that is not theirs and learning to pick up the pieces. I don't hear it recommended often, so I like to mention it when I get a chance.
